Hi, I’m Sarah, a wife to my husband of nearly 20 years and mother to my two teen & pre-teen daughters. We live in a small picturesque village a few miles east of Buntingford with our crazy Springer Spaniel and two cats. Travelling and country dog walks with my family are my favourite past times, especially when they are followed by a lovely glass of red wine beside our cosy log burner (I’m a huge fan of Hygge and cosy family time, a bit of a home bird really).
I worked in Financial Services prior to having babies when I took a career break to look after our young family. I have always had a passion for photography and this time off gave me the opportunity to pursue my passion which in turn led to my business, Portraits by Sarah, being born in 2013. It has been and continues to be an incredible journey & learning curve and I consider myself really fortunate to have worked with so many lovely new parents and families, a substantial amount of whom have become valued returning Clients and friends.
I earned Licentiate status with The Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers in January 2016; Qualified status with The Guild of Newborn & Baby Photographers in January 2018 and I am a Professional member of The Baby & Newborn Photographers Association.
2017 saw the opening of Portraits by Sarah’s new studio – a gorgeous, light, airy and spacious shooting space designed with for your comfort, with plenty of room for little people to play!
I am committed to ongoing training and development to ensure I can offer the best possible images and service to my Clients. I have taken part in training workshops with Gary Hill (UK); Cass Davies (UK); Sarah Wilkes (UK); Jade Gao (Australia); Elizabeth Griffiths (UK) and so far this year I have completed online editing training with Tracy Willis (FSWPP) (SWPP Children’s Photographer of the Year – 2016); a Newborn Workshop with Kelly Brown of Little Pieces Photography, Australia (WPPI Newborn Photographer of the Year – 2017) and a Family & Child Fine Art Workshop with Gary Hill of The Art of Portrait (SWPP Children’s Photographer of the Year – 2017). In addition to this I take part in many online training workshops and carry out my own research and studies on various photographic techniques and editing processes. Image and product quality & customer service are my top priority. Clients can expect to receive the best of both.
