Hi, I’m Sarah, a wife to my husband of nearly 20 years and mother to my two teenage daughters. We live in a small picturesque village a few miles east of Buntingford with our crazy Springer Spaniel and two cats. Travelling and country dog walks with my family are my favourite past times, especially when they are followed by a lovely glass of red wine beside our cosy log burner. I’m a huge fan of Hygge and cosy family time, a bit of a home bird really.
My passion is photography, in particular portrait photography which led to Portraits by Sarah being founded. I consider myself very fortunate to spend my days doing something I truly love. I earned Licentiate status with The Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers in January 2016; Qualified status with The Guild of Newborn & Baby Photographers in January 2018 and I am a Professional member of The Baby & Newborn Photographers Association.
2018 saw the opening of Portraits by Sarah’s new studio. A gorgeous, light, airy and spacious shooting space designed with for your comfort, with parking right outside the door and plenty of room for little people to play! There is also an adjoining tea room which is perfect to visit after your photo shoot.
I am committed to ongoing training and development to ensure I can offer the best possible images and service to my Clients. I have taken part in training workshops with Gary Hill (UK); Cass Davies (UK); Sarah Wilkes (UK); Jade Gao (Australia); Elizabeth Griffiths (UK) and so far this year I have completed online editing training with Tracy Willis (FSWPP) (SWPP Children’s Photographer of the Year – 2016); a Newborn Workshop with Kelly Brown of Little Pieces Photography, Australia (WPPI Newborn Photographer of the Year – 2017) and a Family & Child Fine Art Workshop with Gary Hill of The Art of Portrait (SWPP Children’s Photographer of the Year – 2017). I also completed a 1:2:1 Fine Art Child Photography training day with Tracy Willis (FSWPP) at the end of November 2018. My next training event is a residential workshop in the Spring on the Isle of Lewis which I am super excited about. Keep an eye on the blog for further details.
In addition to the above, I take part in online training workshops and research various photographic techniques and editing processes.
Image and product quality & customer service are my top priority. Clients can expect to receive the best of both.
